Parents\/Carers Coffee Mornings, Events and Workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our Beech Hill coffee mornings as well as other parent events and workshops are a great way to meet other parents and carers, engage with members of the school community and gain more information about specific topics as well as celebrate special events.<\/p>\n

Feedback from those who have attended our coffee mornings, events and workshops has been very positive and we are pleased that the numbers who attend continue to grow.\u00a0 If you have any suggestions of what you would like to see being covered at future events, please get in touch by emailing admin@beechhillschool.co.uk<\/a><\/p>\n

Reading Events March 2026
\n<\/strong>Stay and Read Sessions <\/strong><\/p>\n

As part of our World Book Day celebrations, throughout the week, parents joined their children for our Stay and Read sessions. Children loved sharing stories with their parents and also enjoyed listening to their teachers read some of their favourite books. These sessions were a wonderful way to celebrate reading together as a school community.<\/p>\n

Family Challenge \u2013 World Book Day Edition
\n<\/strong>We loved seeing all the creative entries submitted for our Family Challenge. The effort and imagination that went into each project was incredible.
\nAll winners and runners\u2011up received a \u00a35 book token<\/strong> to spend at the Scholastic Book Fair \u2014 a well\u2011deserved reward for such thoughtful and creative work.<\/p>\n

Many of the entries are now proudly displayed in our school libraries, adding a wonderful personal touch to our reading spaces.<\/p>\n

March 2026- Family Learning<\/strong>
\nEid crafts<\/strong><\/p>\n

We recently hosted a special Eid\u2011themed craft event, welcoming parents and children from all age groups to enjoy a joyful afternoon of creativity. The Family Learning team delivered a well\u2011organised session where families completed a range of hands\u2011on activities together. Children and parents worked side by side on colourful crafts inspired by Eid traditions, creating a warm and inclusive atmosphere that celebrated community, culture and togetherness. It was a wonderful opportunity for families to connect, learn and share in the festive spirit. Everyone left with their own handmade Eid decorations and crafts to take home and enjoy.<\/p>\n

Parent Lunches<\/strong><\/p>\n

Year 3<\/p>\n

Year 3 were delighted to welcome their parents into school for a special family lunch.
\nThe children were full of excitement as they greeted their families in the hall and thoroughly enjoyed sharing a delicious meal together.
\nA huge thank you to all the families who joined us and helped create such wonderful memories with their children. We look forward to welcoming you back again in the near future.<\/p>\n

Year 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

The year 2 children have had a fantastic two days at the parent lunch. Children thoroughly enjoyed eating their lunch with their parents and all the adults who attended said they had a wonderful time too. SEND Coffee Morning<\/strong><\/p>\n

SEND Coffee Morning in partnership with PINS (Project for the Inclusion of Neurodiversity in Schools)
\nToday, we welcomed guest speakers from Family Voice Calderdale into school to share what their service can offer parents of children and young people with additional needs. MacMillan Coffee Morning \u2013 September 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

OPAL Stay and Play Sessions – July 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was great to welcome families into school to take part in our first OPAL Play and Stay Sessions.\u00a0 It was lovely for the children to share their playtime experiences and for those who attended to witness our OPAL in action. Refugee Week and Coffee Morning – June 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

STEM Coffee Morning \u2013 May 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

On Friday 23rd\u00a0May, we celebrated STEM (science, technology, mathematics and engineering) with a family workshop. It was a fantastic turnout and families took part in a range of activities such as creating your own lava lamps, straw rockets and completing a \u2018floor is lava\u2019 challenge. Furthermore, children took part in engineering challenges such as \u2018Who can build the biggest tower using pegs and lollipop sticks?\u2019 or \u2018Can you make a house out of Lego?\u2019. Other activities included creating healthy lunch boxes and making 3D shapes using polydron. There was a real buzz in the hall and it was lovely to see families creating memories together. A huge thank you to all the parents who supported this fantastic event.<\/p>\n

Year 5 Parent Lunch \u2013 May 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

It was lovely to welcome our year 5 families\u00a0into school to share lunch together.\u00a0 The adults commented on how well-behaved children were in the dinner hall and how delicious the school lunches were. The children loved spending time with their family members during their lunch time as well as quizzing them on the ‘sticky knowledge’ slides that were showing.\u00a0 Thank you for your continued support.<\/p>\n

Thank you to everybody for making the book fair at school was a huge success! Many parents visited after school with their children as well as children accessing during break times.\u00a0 We have raised \u00a31200 to spend on new books for school.<\/p>\n

Year 4 Parent Lunch \u2013 February 2025<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

A huge thank you to all the year 4 parents that came into school this week to have lunch with their child. It was lovely to see the children spending time with their families in school and enjoying their lunch together. It was great to see some of the children and their\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 parents discussing the sticky knowledge questions on the projector whilst having lunch. We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!<\/p>\n

Music for the Many \u2013 Songs from Home Project \u2013 January 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

We held the second of our Songs from Home sessions with Daniel and Dickon from Music for the Many on 27th<\/sup> January.\u00a0 It was another lovely opportunity to share songs, music and dance from our diverse cultural heritages. Thank you to all those who attended.\u00a0 The next session will be on Monday 10th February 9-10am – please sign up on the school booking system if you would like to attend.<\/p>\n

Year 3 Parent Lunch \u2013 January 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

A huge thank you to all the year 3 parents who came into school to have lunch with their child. It was such a wonderful experience for the children to spend the time with their families in school and to quiz them on our sticky knowledge. \u00a0We are looking forward to seeing our year 4 children and their families at our next parent lunch in February.<\/p>\n

Phonics Workshop \u2013 January 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n

It was lovely having parents and their children in school for an informative phonics workshop. The children enjoyed playing a range of phonics activities alongside their parents and showing them how we use the RWI scheme to support their reading. Festive Coffee Morning \u2013 December 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

Christmas Jumper Workshop \u2013 December 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you to all of our families who attended the Christmas jumper workshops. They showed us how creative our children and parents can be! It was great to see the wonderful designs coming together and the sewing to make them complete. So many of the finished jumpers were modelled by children in school on our Christmas jumper day which was lovely.<\/p>\n

Music for the Many \u2013 Songs from Home Project \u2013 December 2024<\/strong><\/p>\n

Thank you to the parents who\u00a0took part\u00a0in the Music for the Many Event – \u2018Songs from Home\u2019 project, hosted by Daniel and Dickon.\u00a0\u00a0 The parents had a great time talking about their favourite\u00a0songs and artists from their homelands. Some parents also sang their favourite song. \u00a0\u00a0It was such a lovely atmosphere and was thoroughly\u00a0enjoyed by the parents.<\/p>\n
